Hate to worry anyone, but here's what's happening.

With Libya now the latest country to go up in flames, and an oil producer, gas is already going up. If Saudi Arabia starts to smoke, things will really start to get out of hand. Bad part is, they are surrounded by countries having issues. Bahrain, Jordon, Kuwait, and more. I doubt they can take the pressure.

Protests have been going on in Iran too. With what we're seeing now, we can easily see gas prices very soon around $5.00 per gallon.

If Saudi and Iran go down, you may be looking at closer to $10.00. Along with that, Ol' Hugo in Venezuala is screwing us on our oil contracts and shipping us low grade crude. He's sending the good stuff to China behind our backs. We know, but we do nothing. On top of that, our oil contracts expire in about two years.

Oil traded on the market for a brief time a while back at $147.00 per barrel; gas was over $4.00 per gallon. Fortunately it was for a short time and then dropped significantly and kept going down. Not this time my friends.

Our economy can't sustain $5 per gallon as it is, much less higher. At $5 per gallon, $380 Billion goes right out of the country from consumers pockets. Not outsourced jobs, or trade. Very bad for us. If this happens, we'll go down plus we have the enemy within. But, we don't do anything.

The Kalifa will be in Washington, DC in a couple of weeks. No doubt he'll call for Shariah Law here in the states. Why do we let these people in? Well, for flight training of course among other things.

When all that gasoline cash starts going overseas and cripples our economy even further, things are going to get very bad. As the States and US Treasury get even broker, the money will run out. Anyone receiving benefits from the government or state backed pensions will find themselves in serious trouble.

Unemployment, Social Security, stock market backed pensions, think about it. China will stop lending to us. They took careful notes during the Reagan years when we destroyed the Soviet Union economically and Einstein did say the West would sell the rope that hung itself.

Our President appears to see and do nothing. NBC had an interview with a White House official who said the President did not even talk to six members of his cabinet for two years. the president of the AFL-CIO, a known communist, said in an interview he speaks to the White House daily, and goes there a couple of time a week. Now why is that?

As a nation, we should bring our troops home, mobilize, and go secure our energy needs. We have very little time if the current events keep going.

As individuals, we should make sure our cupboards are as full as possible for the future. If this sounds depressing, it is. You can close your eyes and hope it goes away, or we can all stick together and do something about it as a people.

Well, my thoughts for the day. The new banner at the top of the page matches the topic though! :)

Well, during the last presidential election, it was obvious people were sick and tired of business as usual in Washington and Obama represented change. He was the only one that did and spoke a good line. Have to admit, he can speak.  Unfortunately the change he is presenting to us and the world is not what we are looking for. When Reagan and Clinton were elected, the candidate was voted for. In this past election, it was a concept that was voted for.  I think people are fed up enough now that not only the concept, but a strong candidate will be put in office during the next election. With the tea party movement, plenty of strong people are emerging.

All we need to do is make it that far. We'll see. I'm an optimist at heart, but also realistic. I think things are looking bleak.

I agree with your thoughts, especially the China angle.  Yet, our kinder, gentler Democraic President seems more intent on aplogizing for our actions over the past 200+ years than he does on trying to figure a way out of this mess.  I believe he was quoted as saying something along the lines of 'we live in the greatest nation on earth, now join with me as we chnge it' or something like that.  Seems like the only changes I see our weakening this country.

I agree. Determining our energy costs through futures is like going to the psychic. We have an abundance of coal and natural gas too. Doesn't take much to convert. Everything can run on gas. That's what we should be doing.
